Who are you?
You are strong and determined, yet sometimes feel like you could use someone on your side to help you manage the things that keep you from your passions, friends and family. You’ve been through some challenges in life, and you expect there will be more, but you’ve got this (and maybe you wouldn’t mind someone saying that to you a few times so you’ll believe it).
Maybe you’ve found yourself in a place where you can look around and say, “Yep! I’m here!” and you’d like to have someone else manage all that financial stuff for you while you go off and enjoy those activities you love.
Whether you’re just starting out in life, going through one of the many transitions life brings us, or you’re simply ready to hand things off to someone else for a while, I want to hear your stories. I want to hear your goals and dreams. I want to help you adapt and handle the financial details.
Who am I?
I am Sue Peck, CFP®. I founded Evolution Financial to provide fee-only comprehensive financial planning and investment management for people of all backgrounds who aspire to live their best lives now and in the future.
I am also a fiduciary. A fiduciary is, as defined on Investopedia: a person or organization that owes to another the duties of good faith and trust. The highest legal duty of one party to another, it also involves being ethically bound to act in the other's best interests.
I am far from perfect, and I’ve made mistakes, though I prefer to call them learning opportunities.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BS in psychology, and was also a proud member of the University of Wisconsin Marching Band (Trombone). After having those learning experiences in my 20’s (professional highlights include: International Dairy Queen, a very brief stint at a magazine, temp work, and doing collections for a cell phone company), I landed at an investment management firm with a focus on tax efficient investment strategies. It was during my almost 12 years there that I honed my financial planning expertise and discovered my love of helping clients reach their financial goals and strive for their dreams.
Community is important to me. I am the President of the Northside Business Association, and was also on the Finance Committee for the North/Eastside Senior Coalition (NESCO). I’m also a member of OPEN (Out Professional Engagement Network).
My husband Nathan and I live on the north side of Madison with our two Border Collie mix dogs, Dracena (Puppers) and Harley Quinn, as well as our chickens. As a landscaper, Nathan has transformed our yard to be welcoming to pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
